Can I use this with any AI tool?

Any MCP-compatible client works — including Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT, and Codex — plus other MCP clients. The endpoint is https://mcp.iconscout.com/mcp over streamable HTTP.

Do I need an API key?

No. You sign in with your IconScout account when you first connect - there's no separate key to generate or paste into a config file.

How does sign-in work?

Through standard OAuth. The first time you connect, your AI tool opens IconScout in your browser to sign in and approve access — the server never sees or stores a password or key. You can disconnect it anytime from your AI tool.

Is there a rate limit?

Yes — your usual IconScout limits apply. If you hit one, you'll get a clear message telling you when to try again.

Is my IconScout account safe to connect?

The connection is read-and-download only against your own account, authorized by you, and you can disconnect it anytime from your AI tool.

Is my data used for training?

No. The server is a transport layer only. How your conversations are handled is governed by your AI provider's terms, not ours.

The server is free on every IconScout plan, and it gives your assistant exactly the access your account already has. If you can do it in IconScout, you can do it through MCP. It is not an upgrade path, though: MCP adds no permissions of its own, so anything your plan does not include stays that way.
